Brief description

Liviu Stoicoviciu is passionate and obsessed by geometrical abstraction. He devoted his work and research to the representation of complex geometrical structures in painting. His sculptures are the consequence of his pairings, which in an ideal scenario could generate complex floral structures, derived from pure mathematics.

Liviu Stoicoviciu (b.1942) belongs to a generation of forgotten artist generation. He originates from Cluj, but lives and works in Bucharest. This exhibition is his first major solo show  at Jecza Gallery, in attempt to rediscover his great work and projects.

Our team is currently working on the english version of the exhibition catalogue, which will comprise all exhibited work and critical reviews, as well as the introduction written by curator Ileana Pintilie.

If you will not be able to attend the event, we would be very happy to send you a digital or hardcover copy of the catalogue, alongside other details concerning this exhibition.

We would also like to thank our friend Georg Lecca for his support. His great passion for Romanian art and contribution enabled us to produce the exhibition catalogue and create this event.
