With the support of ERSTE BANK as our main sponsor, VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary presents 115 galleries and institutions, an elaborate talks program, guided tours and exciting special projects catering to the needs of the seasoned experts as well as the newest generations of art enthusiasts.

Our convenient online catalogue will guide you through over a hundred exhibitors from 25 countries including leading Austrian galleries, a balanced blend of established and young Eastern and Southeastern European participants and a fair number of internationally renowned exhibitors from mainland Europe, U.K., U.S., Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

In the context of the OMV Special Project DIALOG: NEW ENERGIES this year’s spotlight is placed on more than thirty exciting positions in contemporary art from Romania. Five galleries – Anaid Art Gallery, Anca Poteraşu Gallery, Jecza Gallery, Galeria Plan B, and Zorzini Gallery – and two non-profit spaces – ATELIER 030202 and ALERT studio – present classical contemporary artists as well as young and inquisitive artists who tell their own personal story independently of any socio-political perspective.

This year once again, thanks to the support of the Arts Division of the Austrian Federal Chancellery, the ZONE1 exhibition format provides an extraordinary opportunity to discover the work of young Austrian artists. With ZONE1, VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary and the Austrian Federal Chancellery support the careers of young Austrian talent and galleries and provide extensive insights into new forms of artistic production.

VIENNA Focus: Azerbaijan

YARAT, a not-for-profit contemporary art organization, presents an exhibition in the framework of VIENNA Focus which examines the rapid urban and social change in the city of Baku through the prism of one of its most impoverished districts: Sovetsky. New works by three artists respond to the district in a variety of media.

VIENNA Talks will give the floor to contemporary art professionals such as Kasper König, Adam Budak, Andreiana Mihail, Viktor Misiano, Nicolaus Schafhausen, Aida Mahmudova, Beatriz Colomina, and Max Hollein, who will talk about how different individuals, organizations and events in the art scene interact, or could interact, with each other.  What can visitors learn from art biennials, and what is the state of protest culture in contemporary art? VIENNA Talks also provides insights into the contemporary art scenes of focal regions of the fair. Representatives from the local art communities will try to give an accurate and current view of the challenges faced and the different perspectives in their respective countries. 20 four 7 – Collecting The New Contemporary

20 four 7 – Collecting The New Contemporary is a series of talks, conceived by Rainald Schumacher. Private collectors introduce their collection, and discuss how it came about and developed. Rolf and Venke Hoff, Monika Lahrkamp, Stephan Oehmen, Alain Servais and Rik Reinking will explain their motivation, communicate their passion for art, and give insights into their commitment.
