The Centre for Visual Arts – multimedia center invites you to the opening of the exhibition Missed Connections on Tuesday, 25 November, 7 pm.
While trying to control the space we occupy, the action of cartography is a traditional way of finding meaning and thus becoming an internalized process of recognition. Breaking the perceptual and sensorial links causes disorientation and introduces decontextualization or, what Deleuse and Guattari call “deterritorialization”.
The Center for Vizual Arts puts forward an itinerary in reconstructing this destabilized and destabilizing space, an uncertain place where ordinary things are questioned, a place of vulnerability, insecurity and of pending judgments. The process implies tracking the joinders that were generated by putting together disparate, heterogeneous elements, letting go of conflicts and remaking the bonds.
The fragmentations, pauses, cracks, realities that intertwined are developed in an imaginary of recovery. Every work is biographical, setting reference points that cross the social, temporal and geographical.
