Nazim Ünal Yilmaz (*1981, TR/AT) studied at the Anatolia University and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In his expressive, figurative compositions, we can find references to the work of the early avant-garde, as well as to the more ancient art of the Renaissance and the Baroque periods. For Yilmaz, painting is “both a field for free existence and an act of resistance” (Markus Graf). The central motif of the paintings presented at Krokus Gallery is the deconstruction of the definition of gender and sex as acknowledged by society and the search for one’s own identity. Selected exhibitions : Frankfurter Kunstverein (2012), C24 Gallery New York (2011), Depo Istanbul (2011), Forum Stadtpark Graz (2008).

Kay Walkowiak (*1980, AT) studied at the University of Vienna, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. He works with sculpture, installations, photography and film. His artworks examine the world of objects, things around us, their fetishism and social function. He often combines the minimalist form of stark metal constructions with fragments evocative of the human body, such as in the installations Mise en scène or Electric Ladies which he is presenting for the first time in Bratislava. Selected exhibitions: Feldbuschwiesner Berlin (2013), Künstlerhaus Wien (2012), Kunsthaus Hamburg (2012), Magazin Vienna (2010).
