The empty space.

Confrontation with the empty mass of nothing.

An endless amount of possibilities,

but yet, it is nothing.

These photos represent a work in progress for a future creation. We have been researching the contrast between what is new, never used and what is old and left behind. Documenting our daily walking path between the Metro station Timpuri Noi and WASP, we came out with this selection of photos.

Nathalie Wahlberg studied at Royal Swedish Ballet School and Northern School of Contemporary Dance. She appeared in a music video directed by Wim Vandekeybus and participated in Willi Dorner’s project ‘Bodies in Urban Spaces’ in Stockholm.

Diana Spiridon graduated from the Choreography Highschool in Bucharest Floria Capsali, and worked, a.o, with Martha Graham (Diversion of Angels), Connor Schumacher (Teach me dutch), Tim Simons (Still Life).

Initiated 3 years ago with the aim to support the research and promotion of young creators, Meet the Next Generation adjusted its content with each edition according to the European development and changes in contemporary dance. In 2012, Meet the Next Generation includes dance laboratories, workshops, and public presentations with and by artists from Italy, Norway, Belgium, Romania, a.o.

Organized by: 4Culture, WASP – Working Art Space and Production

With the support of: Culture Programme of the European Union, Romanian Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Administration of the National Cultural Fund With the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union
