Cda-Projects Gallery: DNA_nen

02/11/2012 – 01/12/2012

Nazlı Eda Noyan

The young artist is recording the country we live in, with a profound investigation into its basic units at her second solo show at Cda-Projects Gallery.

In the exhibition, basic units of our country and its agendas are deconstructed and recombined by the way of artist’s peculiar process, things stay strange as they are looking familiar.

Current issues, people and situations are digitally processed and  defragmented to their composing lines by Noyan’s special way of “tirimlamak”, then are weaved together again associated with different environment and relationship networks. The artist configures the exhibition as an analysis and creates a kind of gene map by focusing on the icons and institution of the country. The symbols are beginning to metamorphose with the deformation in their forms and invite us to recombine those deformed elements again. In the work Logonome, the new structures are proposed by inversing the institutional identities. The series of computational graphic logos begin to loose, dissolve and gain volume to attain their existence in three dimensional world, build up their own statue. In the collection, the forms are growing, surrounding and transforming the exhibition hall by reproducing themselves like genetic patterns and Noyan offers us to understand structure together by showing both the pure and condenced states of those forms.

DNA_nen can be viewed from November 2nd to December 1st at Cda-Projects Gallery in Mısır Apartment.
