On 19 May 2009 the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) Vilnius launched the CAC Reading Room; a new and dynamic space for reading, talking, and the presentation of social, educational and contemporary art events designed by the Amsterdam-based collective of architects and designers Anouk Vogel, Johan Selbing, and Bart Guldemond.

The design of the space, based on the concept of an ‘indoor garden’, was selected as the winning proposal in a competition run by the CAC in 2008 for young designers and architects. The Reading Room, which is located on the ground floor of the CAC, updates the popular CAC Info Lab that has been operating in the foyer of the CAC since 1999, and which has in turn, been updated as part of a special white-on-white installation for the entrance spaces, devised by Lithuanian architect-and-artist Valdas Ozarinskas.

You will find the Contemporary Art Centre in the centre of the city, in the heart of the Old Town:
Vokieciu 2, LT- 01130, Vilnius
