11.08.2012 – 19.08.2012

Max Reinhardt's claim – "All of Salzburg is a stage!" – has a very special meaning for the 6th edition of ART SALZBURG.

In 2012, not only will the annual performance of Jedermann (Everyman) take place on the Domplatz (Cathedral Square) which – as many visitors to the fair already know – brings our international art fair a parade of Jedermann actors through the premises of ART SALZBURG. In 2012, the impressive inner courtyard of the Residenz palace will become the new, attractive performance space of the Salzburg Festival.

Peter von Winters opera "Das Labyrinth" (The Labyrinth) will celebrates its musical premiere under the direction of Alexandra Liedtke and will still seduce with sonorous operatic delights during bad weather under the spectacular new canopy.

Visitors to the art fair will be received at the entry gate to the Residenz, proceed down a red carpet full of floral arrangements by Blumen Doll and take in a selection of unique sculptures by outstanding artists as an appetizer and artistic cross-section of the art on offer at ART SALZBURG.

After this artistic entrée, the imperial rooms of the Residenz palace are entered via the grand staircases, where one undertakes a tour of the fair in both directions via the Carabinieri Room through the Hall of the Knights, the Conference Room, the Ante Camera, the Audience Room, the Study and the bedroom of the Archbishop into the Painting Gallery, the Throne Room, the White Room, the Green Salon and the Emperor's Hall. In the Cathedral Passage, as in 2011, our fair restaurant will serve Salzburg delicacies.

At ART SALZBURG, the artistic treasures exhibited by our now 38 exhibitors from Austria, Germany and Switzerland unite with the unforgettable ambience of the Residenz palace, one of the most impressive structures in the city of Salzburg. Together with the highlights of the Salzburg Festival, ART SALZBURG will once again be a one-of-a-kind cultural experience.

We look forward to your visit.
