Traian Boldea

Wednesday, 26 of September 2012, at 07:30 p.m. will take place at ANAID ART GALLERY the opening of the exhibition Work in Progress “The Tower of Babel”, signed by Traian Boldea, in the framework of the program Work in Progress by Anaid Art Concept Space. The persons who are found of contemporary art will be able to visit the exhibition starting with 26 of September – 6 of October 2012.

The program Work in Progress by Anaid Art Concept Space is for artists who desire to exhibit a project in progress, which isn’t finalized yet, an idea or a mini – series of works within a large artistic project. Work in Progress by Anaid Art Gallery doesn’t propose to present an exhibition in itself, but rather a fragment in progress from a future artistic project. Work in Progress by Anaid Art Concept Space is a pill of contemporary art for a week.

The project Work in Progress “The Tower of Babel” signed by Traian Boldea presents a fragment from a large series “Agoraphobia”. The series “Agoraphobia” contains 11 chapters: Babel Tower, Archangel Gabriel, Annunciation Sketch, Sodom and Gomorrah, Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, John the Baptist, Doomsday (Apocalypse of Paul), Necrophobia, Hunters, Heaven, Doomsday.

“The Tower of Babel” represents the first fragment from the series “Agoraphobia” signed by Traian Boldea. Agoraphobia is defined as fear of being in an open space or in a crowd, in public spaces, the fear of leaving a safe zone. The works were designed especially for the claustrophobic space of an interior staircase, taking place on three sides. The first three sides and the sketches of the project, for the West wall, will be presented to the public. These works refer to the moment when the tower was built, moment when the crowd becomes the creative force. Theater, music, art, philosophy come together in order to dominate the crowd. On the North wall, Traian Boldea, through a single work of art, will offer the image of a crowd full of vanity in which the cardinal virtues are killed, and the theological ones are expelled. Western wall, still in a stage of idea, will present the appearance of divinity, tower demolition and the Garden Parnassus.

The elaborateness of working in pen and ink and the idea of a delirious crowd outline a fantastic tenacity and a rich philosophical meaning. In the crowd you can meet Plato, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Shakespeare etc, you just have to look carefully.

Anaid Art Gallery invites you to make an incursion in the contemporary art from Monday until Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 07:00 p.m. and Saturday:  10:00 a.m. – 06:00 p.m.
