Talk at Translocal: Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination

The Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination: art, activism and daily life in an age of crisis

A talk by Isabelle Fremeaux and John Jordan

Translocal Institute Budapest

10 September 2014 at 8pm

Isabelle Fremeaux and John Jordan will present their work with the The Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination, a collective that brings artists and activists together to create new forms of civil disobedience and post capitalist life.

Infamous for fermenting mass disobedience on bicycles during the Copenhagen climate Summit, touring the UK recruiting a rebel clown army, running courses in postcapitalist culture, throwing snowballs at bankers, launching a rebel raft regatta to shut down a coal fired power station, covering the Tate gallery in molasses and falling in love with utopias, The Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination (Lab of ii) is now setting up a school of art and activism on a communal organic farm in Brittany, France.

Currently their work features prominently in the Disobedient Objects exhibition at Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
